Nursery

Overview

There are four nursery rooms:
  • Room 110 - Infants (0 - walking)
  • Room 112 - Younger toddlers (walking - 2 years)
  • Room 113 - Older toddlers (2 years)
  • Room 111 - Three-year-olds
During the Sunday School hour only the Infant and Toddler rooms are staffed. During Worship, the older and younger toddlers are separated.

All parents and nursery volunteers should read and be familiar with our nursery policies. You may
read our policies here, or obtain a copy in the church office.

Interesting in Teaching?

We use A Sure Foundation - the Fragrance of the Knowledge of Christ for our curriculum.  Please partner with us in prayer regarding the biblical teaching of our children while they are in the nursery. If you are interested in teaching our younger and older toddlers during the Sunday School hour please notify Kyla Cox. You may access the Children and Youth Worker Application here.

Reminder to Parents

If your child is sick or has had any of the following symptoms within the past 36 hours, please refrain from leaving them in the nursery. This will ensure that other children, their families, and our nursery workers are protected from illness.
  • fever
  • colored nasal discharge
  • conjunctivitis (pink eye)
  • eye or ear discharge
  • vomiting or diarrhea
  • skin infections
  • chronic cough or sore throat
  • cold sores around the mouth
  • impetigo
  • active chicken pox or recent chicken pox vaccine (within 3 days)
  • any acute infectious disease

For too long nurseries have been part of church life because “somebody” has to take care of the infants and toddlers while their parents participate in worship services and Sunday school classes. The infants and toddlers can be a distraction in these settings; therefore, nurseries exist. But the church nursery should be an exciting and vital ministry in the faith of the next generation. If the nursery is viewed as a place of prayer for young children, a place where children learn simple truth statements as they form their language skills, and a place where they hear foundational Bible stories, the nursery can be transformed into an integral beginning of ministry to children.

How can this transformation take place? Nursery workers must view themselves not only as childcare workers but also as prayer warriors and ministers to children. If every child is prayed for every time he or she is in the nursery, what might God be pleased to do in response to those prayers? If nursery workers see their chief functions as not only changing diapers but sowing truth in the lives of these little ones, what might God be pleased to accomplish? The nursery should be seen as a place where kingdom business takes place.
